Commercial lending and credit administration
Spread and cite every number before your next exam
Corvic reads borrower statements, tax returns and loan agreements. It spreads the figures and tests each covenant with the agreement's own definitions. Your analyst reviews the draft and signs. Every number links to the page and line it came from.

The problem
Credit teams key numbers instead of judging credit
A C&I borrower with three years of returns, interim statements and a guarantor PFS still means hours of copying from PDFs. Covenant tests wait for the annual review. Loan review writes up the gap.
01
Spreads take the analyst's week
Forms 1120-S and 1065, K-1s, CPA statements and PFSs arrive as PDFs and scans. An analyst types each line into the spreading system or Excel. A senior analyst checks it again.
02
Covenants get tested months late
Most community banks test performance covenants at the annual review, long after year-end statements arrive. Some outside loan reviewers expect a documented test within 30 days of receipt. Anything later is an exception.
03
One missing return, two exceptions
A guarantor return that never arrives also blocks the global cash flow test. That is two exceptions. The tickler sits in the core, a shared drive and a lender's inbox, and examiners want the list current.
What Corvic does
Six credit administration jobs run the same way every time
Each job runs as a playbook over your own files, on your schedule. Analysts review the output before anything goes in the credit file.
Abstract loan agreements
Pulls financial covenants, defined terms, reporting deadlines and cure periods from agreements and every amendment. Flags when an amendment changes a definition.
Covenant schedule per loan, with the section number behind every term
Spread statements and tax returns
Reads Forms 1120, 1120-S and 1065, K-1s, Schedule E, CPA-prepared statements, rent rolls and PFSs. Maps each line to your spread template across years and entities.
Spread with DSCR, debt to EBITDA and global cash flow, each cell cited to page and line
Test covenants when statements land
Runs each test with that agreement's definition of EBITDA, debt service or tangible net worth. Compares the result with the borrower's compliance certificate.
Dated test memo marked pass, watch or breach, ready for analyst sign-off
Run ticklers and the exception list
Checks what is in the file against what each agreement requires and when. Logs credit data and documentation exceptions, including untested covenants, and clears them when the document arrives.
Past-due and exception report by officer and age, refreshed every morning
Draft annual reviews
Assembles the spread, covenant history, rating factors and last year's memo into your annual review format. The analyst edits the judgment and skips the arithmetic.

Prepare for loan review and exams
Pulls each file on the sample list with its spreads, tests, exceptions and memos. Answers follow-up questions with the page cited.

Covenant tests

Source · Loan agreement §6.12(b)
WatchBorrower shall not permit the ratio of Funded Debt to EBITDA to exceed 3.00 to 1.00. EBITDA has the meaning in Section 1.1 and excludes add-backs not approved in writing by Lender.
Figures used
- Total long-term debt6,680Balance sheet, p.3, line 22
- EBITDA per §1.12,296Statement of income, p.4, lines 7 and 9
- EBITDA on borrower certificate2,466Compliance certificate, p.1, line 4
Calculation
6,680 ÷ 2,296 = 2.91x. The certificate shows 6,680 ÷ 2,466 = 2.71x.
3% headroom. The certificate adds back $170K of relocation costs that §1.1 does not allow.
3 pass, 1 on watch. The borrower's certificate overstates EBITDA.
Getting started
From your loan files to a first answer in 24 hours
Start with one segment, such as C&I loans with annual covenants. We onboard you with your own data.
- 1
Point Corvic at the files
Connect the SharePoint library, imaging export or storage bucket where statements and agreements already land. There is no migration.
- 2
Load your template and policy
Add your spread template, covenant definitions and exception codes. Playbooks follow your loan policy and your naming.
- 3
Check, sign off and schedule
Analysts compare the first results with files they already reviewed. Then the playbooks run monthly, quarterly or as statements arrive.

Common concerns
What credit and risk teams raise first
Every figure in a spread or covenant test links to the page and line it came from, so a reviewer can check it in one click. Your analyst reviews the draft and signs before it goes in the file. The credit decision stays with your people.
Most banks will review Corvic as a third-party relationship. SR 26-2, which replaced SR 11-7 in April 2026, leaves generative AI out of its scope. You get cited outputs, playbooks that run the same steps every time and a model choice set in config, which gives reviewers something concrete to test.
Corvic does not replace either one. It reads the documents and exports you already have, in SharePoint, an imaging export, a storage bucket or a warehouse. Your systems of record stay as they are.
That is why Corvic abstracts each agreement first. It tests each covenant with the definition in that loan's agreement and amendments, add-backs included, and cites the section. When a borrower's compliance certificate uses a different number, the test shows the gap.
Deploy Corvic in a private VPC with tenant isolation and keys dedicated to your institution. Zero-data-retention model options are available where the provider supports them. Tell us your requirements and we will map them to your vendor review.
We onboard you with your own data, and your first answer is 24 hours away. A good pilot covers one segment and compares Corvic's spreads and tests with work your analysts already finished.
Pricing depends on volume and deployment. Start with a scoped pilot on one segment so you can count analyst hours saved before you commit. See the pricing page or ask us for a quote.
